Terns, gulls and waders are nesting on islands and shingle spits around the harbour right now!

The next six weeks are a critical period for the seabirds as they incubate their eggs and raise their young chicks. Their nests and young can be well hidden and are very vulnerable to human disturbance.

All harbour users can help these species by avoiding landing on their nesting areas such as Stakes Island, Ella Nore spit, and Fowley Island.

Thank you.
