At the recent RYA Dinghy Show, Tim Keeping, Rear Commodore (Sailing), and his Dinghy Instructor son, Charlie, accepted Emsworth Sailing Club’s appointment as a British Youth Sailing Club. This reflects the Club’s commitment to inspire young sailors into racing and to create a passion for a lifetime in the sport of sailing.

Being a BYS recognised club is a quality mark for ESC’s race training; we are one of fewer than 25 clubs in the UK to have received this award. It provides access to the latest developments from experts in race coaching.

For our youth members, it reflects the Club’s commitment to providing a pathway into regional, national and potentially Olympic development squads. Historically, ESC has produced a number of UK top sailors whose names are recorded on the boards in the clubhouse. Many have started their sailing careers as Martlets sailing in Optimists on the Millpond. Currently, ESC has some strong talent emerging from the Winter Training for Teras.
