YOKE TROPHY – ESC WINS!
24 September 2017

ESC retained the Yoke yesterday – squeaking home by 1.25 points!  Full results and info to follow ...
Sailing Instructions (under review)

It's only just over three weeks until The Yoke and we are looking forward to repeating our success of last year! In order to do this we need as many entries as possible so if you have not yet registered please do so.

Those without a handicap need to get one as soon as possible, using the application form. Please forward this when completed to ESC member Linda Wolstenholme / via secretaries. NOR and SIs are still under review so for the moment what we have is given above.

The race start will be at 12:45 on 23 September 2017 at the Chichester Racing Buoy (CRB), with Toccata as start and finish committee boat. We will be racing under the joint instructions which were used last year.

The course will be:
Committee boat start at CRB
Cambrian (S)
Horse Sand Fort (S)
Kemps Quay (S)
Royal Yacht Squadron (P) (ex-Chamgane Pol Rogers)
Southampton Solent University (P) (ex-Sunsail)
Wightlink (P) (ex Roger Swinney)
Finish at Royal Southern YC with the committee boat or timed from own GPS when the mark bears due NE within 20m, if the finish boat is off station.
Shortening course: If the OOD in Toccata choses to shorten course, Southampton Solent University and Wightlink marks will be omitted.

Mercury Yacht Haven marina staff have confirmed berthing for our joint rally and to ensure we all get berths allocated, we must return details of ESC's requirements to ESSC no later than 9th/10th September. The Waters Edge Restaurant have offered us an excellent menu. Please will you advise your menu choices to ESSC with your berthing requirements, noting that Mercury will run a tab for each boat and it will be the skipper's responsibility to settle up at the end of the evening. If crews do not turn up on the day (or by land if conditions are poor) they will be liable for a cancellation fee. We will be limited to 110 places and we will overspill from the restaurant into the bar if necessary.

Happy racing!
